Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the current state of Uzbekistan’s investment climate with a focus on macroeconomic conditions, business environment reforms and priority sectors of the economy. After 2017, the country has been implementing a large-scale reform programme, which has ensured macroeconomic stability and a marked improvement in the investment climate. Key achievements are noted: sustainable GDP growth, increased inflow of foreign direct investment and improvement of Uzbekistan’s position in international business environment ratings. Priority areas for investors – industry, information technology and energy – are reviewed, with a brief overview of the potential of these sectors.
