Abstract
Purpose of work. Currently, almost every day, new computer textbooks are being developed – the socalled
intelligent learning systems designed to be implemented in the modern educational process at all stages
of training. The purpose of this article is to determine the role of digital technologies and the specifics of
their application in teaching a foreign language.
Materials and methods. The study examines the features, as well as ways to work with digital methods in
the classroom and outside of school hours. The article focuses on the problem of pros and cons of using digital
learning methods at the present stage.
Results. The authors attempt to analyze the effectiveness of digital methods in teaching a foreign language
using empirical material. As a result, the most significant, from the authors ' point of view, methods of
working in the digital information space are identified and characterized.
Conclusion. A sense of proportion and awareness of the proper amount of use of digital technologies is the
key to successful, high-quality and multi-faceted language education
