Abstract

The article is devoted to the actual topic of social inequality and poverty of the population. This topic touches on a global problem, which is included in the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations. The article considers various concepts of poverty. Much attention is paid to the system of indicators of poverty, which is contained in the Human Development Report. The analysis of the relationship between the coefficient of multidimensional poverty and the intensity of deprivation is carried out. The analysis of the level of poverty in Russia is based on the indicator of the population with incomes below the subsistence minimum.
