Abstract
Relevance. The article is devoted to the study of key concepts and terms that define the scientific approach to the
formation of an environmentally friendly living environment. For the first time, the authors compare the definitions of the
basic concepts related to the tasks of creating “green” technologies based on the material of four different-structured
languages.
The purpose of the study is a comparative analysis of the results of the development of the eco-terminological
system in the language, as well as the processes of lexical changes reflected in the texts of environmental topics of the
compared languages.
Tasks. To identify the problems associated with the shortage of a certain kind of specification in a specific area; to
identify the main incentives; to show the importance of standardization and unification of special vocabulary.
Results. The authors demonstrated by the example of international terms, abbreviations and calcified units of special
vocabulary the main difficulties in translating ecological universals in the languages under consideration. That terminological
standardization is an integral part of the entire standardization process. It is determined that communication of transport
experts from different countries of the world cannot be effective without proper standardization of terminology of various
modes of transport.
