Abstract

Relevance. The article is devoted to the study of the problems that arise when implementing lean manufacturing in various production or service environments, as well as the limitations of its key tools. The topic of the problems of implementing lean manufacturing has so far mainly focused on specific industries and characteristics of the company.
The purpose of the study. This article attempts to identify problems that are common and therefore applicable to almost any lean environment. In addition to the general problems, the purpose of this article is to identify the main limitations of key lean production tools that managers face in the process of implementing this concept into the company’s activities. The concept and basic principles of lean manufacturing are considered. The key tasks and advantages of using this approach to enterprise management in modern conditions are emphasized. By doing so, the author hopes to bring more clarity to the topic of the problems of implementing lean manufacturing, which will be useful for people studying lean manufacturing, as well as for practitioners of lean manufacturing and the whole body of academic knowledge.
Results. The reasons listed in the article lead to a number of risks of introducing lean production, so it is important to remember that Lean-production is not a universal tool, and it must be implemented thoughtfully and accurately, taking into account many factors and features of the production processes of a particular company. And this, in turn, requires the commitment and participation of all people in the organization.
