Abstract
The purpose of the work. The features of the development of the domestic agro-industrial complex for the period
since 1970 are considered.
Materials and methods. The analysis of the production of livestock products in the Russian Federation with the
allocation of the results of the activities of certain categories of farms is carried out.
Results. The possibility of increasing the efficiency of the livestock industry of the agro–industrial complex in the
process of developing its organizational structure, rational use of the initial product, reducing production losses, improving
the material and technical base, and increasing the level of human resource management is investigated.
Conclusion. During the study, it was confirmed that the greatest increase in labor efficiency is observed in large-sized
farms with an updated fleet of equipment and qualified personnel, using elite animals and applying modern technologies
for keeping livestock and primary processing of livestock products.
