Abstract
Research work in which there was no doubt – maral. The taxonomy of deer is considered in historical and modern aspects, a brief reference on the deer resettlement. The description of handicrafts of red deer living on the territory of Russia (Caucasian deer, Red deer, Maral) is presented. It is described that we are red deer since ancient times and to our days. The history of the development of the reindeer husbandry industry and its current state is touched.
