Abstract

The article presented data on modern computer technologies used in the field of cage fur farming. When using them, labor productivity increases sharply, this is very important in modern conditions of farming. The first specialized program “Calculation of optimal diet. Fur animals” that made it possible to facilitate significantly the work on the forage, to reduce the cost of feed mixture without compromising product quality is presented. At present, the specialists of fur-breeding farms actively use the software systems “Argus” and “Mercury”, which are part of the federal State Information System in the field of veterinary medicine, to obtain permits and control the movements of supervised goods. To carry out pedigree selection and pedigree work in farms, computer program “Breeding selection” is used, thanks to which it is possible to control of livestock, the calves appraisal, selection and choice, and to lead control of lines and families. The use of information technology allows to make the analysis of a large data amount in a short time. The data on the study of genetic variability of fur-bearing animals using DNA methods are presented.
