Abstract

Studies have shown a number of reproductive characteristics of Large White pigs: dynamics of clinical indicators of piglets depending on age; the concentration of hormones in the blood serum of gilts at the time of the first arrival in the hunt; duration of gestation, duration of labor, multiple births and the safety of piglets from experimental sows. These indicators are important for effective artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and labor management. In the course of research, a relationship was found between the level of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in the blood serum of the studied animals and their ability to fruitful insemination. The proposed method can be used along with other diagnostic tests for the selection of replacements, thereby increasing the reproductive characteristics of the herd; allows detecting low-producing gilts even in the first months of their life, which can significantly reduce the cost of keeping problem animals.
