Abstract
The dynamics of clinical, hematological, biochemical and ultrasound parameters of patients with
acute hepatitis of cats when using the drug «Heptral» for therapeutic purposes has been studied.
The work was performed on 20 cats of different sexes and different ages, spontaneously ill with
acute hepatitis.
It was found that the clinical indicators of sick animals began to improve after 2–3 times intravenous
administration of the drug at a dose of 30 mg per 1 kg of body weight once a day. Changes
in hematological parameters after a 1-day course of treatment were characterized by a significant
decrease in ESR, a decrease in the number of leukocytes. In the leukogram, a decrease in the
relative content of stab and an increase in segmented neutrophils was noted. The concentration of
hemoglobin and the content of erythrocytes increased within the reference values.
Biochemical parameters were characterized by a significant decrease in the concentration of total
and direct bilirubin, total protein, glucose and the activity of liver enzymes. However, by the end
of the observation, the concentration of glucose, direct bilirubin and the activity of ALT and AST
exceeded the levels of healthy animals.
