Abstract

Artificial insemination is a fairly new direction in dog breeding, but it is of great interest to breeders all over the world due to the advantages of this method over natural mating. For successful fertilization, the fertility of the producer plays an important role, therefore, obtaining reliable results of the study of male sperm indicators is a priority task for specialists dealing with reproduction issues. To date, there are no data on the reference (normative) indicators of ejaculates necessary for the evaluation of the studied semen samples. This review presents and analyzes the results of studies on the physical, biological and morphological parameters of male sperm, taking into account the weight of animals.
