Abstract

The article highlights the history of the Department of Epizootology and Organization of Veterinary Affairs of the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology – MBA named after K. I. Scriabin from the date of its foundation to the present. The heads are presented with an indication of their contribution to the development of veterinary science, practice and veterinary education in our country. The main achievements and scientific and practical developments of the staff of the department in different time periods are reflected, information about the methodological and scientific base is given. The path of development of the scientific school of epizootologists, founded by an outstanding infectious disease scientist, a full member of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR, honorary academician of the VASHNIL, laureate of the State Prize, Professor Sergey Nikolaevich Vyshelessky, is traced.
