Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the species structure of the helminthocenoses of the stone and forest martens, conducted from 2006 to 2022. 55 corpses of stone martens from the foothill landscape-geographical zone and 64 corpses of forest martens from the foothill and mountain zones of the North-West Caucasus were examined. The analysis of the results of the study showed that the main factor in the formation of helminthocenoses of martens in the study region is the species structure of trophic and epizootic circuits, such links are given predators, and species which play the role of intermediate, additional and reservoir hosts of parasites. During the study period, an increase in the number of parasite species in the structure of helminthocenoses of martens was noted. We associate this fact with the anthropogenic transformation of natural ecosystems and the violation of historically established biocenotic relationships, the main of which is the «parasitehost » system. The marten species living in the study region form and support 15 natural foci of helminthiasis in the North-West Caucasus, including the focus of trichinosis.
