Abstract

Rabies infection is a group of transmissible diseases that affect the public economy and public health, both in individual countries and the world as a whole. The epizootic situation of rabies in most countries of the world is unfavorable. According to the OIE, in 2021, countries with rabies problems were Armenia, Germany, Canada, Malaysia, Melilla, USA, Sueta, Taiwan, Ukraine, Uruguay. The epizootic situation of rabies in Russia remains tense. In May and June 2022, 105 rabies-prone areas were identified, most of which are in the Central, Volga and Ural Federal Districts. The largest number of diseased animals was found in the wild fauna. In the Krasnodar Territory, a decrease in cases of rabies among animals has been registered, but the prognosis for the disease remains cautious.
