Abstract
Thiamethoxam is the first insecticide based on neonicotinoids from the subclass of tianicotinils.
It was found that thiamethoxam increases the level of oxidative stress in the testicular tissues
of rabbits and mice, which can negatively affect the quality of sperm produced.
In the course of this work, the effect of a complex preparation containing selenium and vitamin
E on the development of oxidative stress when using an insectoacaricidal agent based on thiamethoxam
to rabbits was studied.
The analysis of the obtained results allowed us to establish that the use of the complex preparation
«Abiovit» containing selenium and vitamin E is effective in minimizing the side effect of an
insecticidal agent based on thiamethoxam and prevents the development of oxidative stress in the
tissues of the testicles of rabbits.
