Abstract

The isoenzymes activity of LDH in the cranial cervical sympathetic ganglion (SCG) of rabbits was determined by disc- electrophoresis under conditions of pharmacological ganglion blockade by subcutaneous administration of the cholinolytic dimecoline. Pharmacological blockade causes significant rearrangements of the LDH isoenzyme spectrum in SCG. There is a complete reduction of M isoforms (LDH-4 and -5), H isoforms (LDH-1 and -2) only remain. It is assumed that a decrease in the activity of all LDH isoforms during pharmacological blockade occurs by allosteric inhibition and leads to a significant restructuring of metabolism and to hypofunction of SCG.
