The manual was compiled in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education in the specialty "Veterinary Medicine", specialization "Veterinary Pharmacy". The training manual "Fundamentals of Pharmacognosy" describes the rules for the procurement, primary processing, drying and storage of medicinal plant materials. A qualitative, quantitative analysis of biologically active substances of plant origin is described in accordance with the State Pharmacopoeia. The characteristics of the main medicinal plants used in veterinary practice are given for the content of biologically active substances in them. Test tasks for independent preparation for classes in veterinary pharmacognosy are proposed, which contributes to the formation of competencies in the technology for the procurement of medicinal plant materials, the determination of its authenticity and quality. The manual is intended for students majoring in Veterinary Medicine, students of the FPK, veterinarians and specialists working in the field of circulation of medicines for veterinary use.
