The collection of materials from the International Youth Forum «Russia-Africa: Nuclear Education as Potential for the Regional Nuclear Industry» includes articles by the Forum speakers. The articles demonstrate the results of research work by students from Russian and African universities on issues of nuclear reactor safety and ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants, and increasing radiation protection for the population of the regions. The authors of the articles also consider issues of technological development of radiation therapy and diagnostics in medicine, ensuring environmental safety in the nuclear fuel cycle, sustainable water management, circular economy and eco-biotechnologies. The collection of materials also contains topics in the field of geology and mining – research in the field of geotechnology, geological mapping, computer modeling of mineral deposits. In authors’ papers the ways to increase the processing rate of mining during the construction of underground storages for oil and gas were proposed, geological features of some regions and their potential resources were considered, and block models of a man-made deposit to assess the feasibility of its development were developed., agrotechnology – using ionizing radiation for sterilization, technology for identifying products with increased radioactive background, as well as the impact of radiation on living plants.
