The textbook is a good reference material for compiling curricula, subject plans and work notes by teachers of physical training departments of both military educational institutions and instructors of army units and patriotic clubs, military departments of civilian universities. It can be used as a supplement to materials for studying the discipline "Physical Education".
The textbook is divided into two parts. The theoretical part sets out in detail the purpose, objectives and methods of training. It also contains chapters devoted to the development of human physical qualities. The practical part reflects in detail the preparatory part of the lesson, including a special warm-up, acrobatics and insurance with a weapon. The sequence of commands for the execution of the technical actions being learned is well reflected. The biomechanical patterns of learning and performing techniques of attack with cold and firearms and defense against them are set out in detail, but at the same time concisely. All the proposed technical material is modeled according to semesters of training, each section includes a certain number of logically grouped actions. They are different in execution, but are basic for further professional development. In addition to technical training with elements of hand-to-hand combat, the textbook sets out alternative ways of carrying a machine gun and quickly reloading it, methods of training and improving the adoption of various positions for combat, examples of tactical changes in shooting positions and movements, methods of practicing knife fighting.
The book can be used by instructors and trainers of army hand-to-hand combat as reference material in practical work with military personnel of various army units, cadets of military universities and those undergoing advanced military training courses.
