Systems economics is a relatively young and rapidly developing, promising field in economic science. It seeks to comprehensively examine such diverse phenomena as the functioning of organizations, the implementation of investment and innovation projects, business processes, and the emergence and interaction of socioeconomic institutions. The overall goal is to increase coherence and overcome economic fragmentation, offer a scientific basis for current decisions in Russian economic policy, and formulate principles for the strategic management of the modern economy. Systems economic theory develops, generalizes, and integrates several key tenets of neoclassical, institutional, and evolutionary economic theories using systems theory and spatiotemporal analysis. It also takes into account the specifics and traditions of the Russian economy, as well as the prospects for its digitalization and intellectualization. Relying on systems economic theory as a scientific basis for formulating economic management strategies and tactics allows, as demonstrated in this monograph, to create the preconditions for the systemic transformation of the Russian economy and its transition to a path of evolutionary, sustainable socioeconomic and technological development in today's rapidly changing, turbulent, and unpredictable world.
