In the modern world, in the context of intensifying globalization processes, the effective functioning of international financial organizations and global political institutions is of great importance for the stable development of the world economy and the global financial system. However, intergovernmental organizations often become a tool for achieving the goals of national states in the international arena, as a result of which the issue of their reform acquires a pronounced political character. In this monograph, using the tools of new institutional economic theory, the problem of reforming existing international financial organizations is studied, and special emphasis is placed on the International Monetary Fund, since, created more than 80 years ago, it continues to be a key element of the global financial architecture and one of the main institutions ensuring the stability of the global financial system.
The monograph is intended for students specializing in the field of International Relations, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in the modern world political structure, international organizations and world politics.
