Аннотация

Ecotourism is a comparatively recent economic activity undergoing spatial and structural growth. Understanding its operational mechanisms and environmental impacts necessitates sustained efforts for their identification. Consequently, this study’s primary objective is to determine the relationship between ecotourism and its effects on the economy, society, and environment by conducting a literature review analysis. Present article positions ecotourism as a transformative force within economic, social, cultural, and environmental spheres, identifying essential components for its sustainable development. To attain this goal, the review integrates viewpoints from both seminal and recent authors who have significantly engaged with the subject. The review shows that ecotourism is a way to get people to invest in and create jobs, as well as get more value out of the goods and services they buy. Combining activities for visitors with the help of tour guides helps businesses make the most money at their destinations. This helps both ecotourism promoters and local communities grow in a healthy way economically, socially, and environmentally. The analysis, however, makes it clear that the size of these benefits depends on how involved the local population is. This review can help future studies understand and position ecotourism to balance social, economic, and environmental interests. It can also help policymakers make smart choices about ecotourism.
