abstract
Based on the works of the founders of the theory of human capital and their modern followers, the author develops a methodology for the study of human capital, clarifies the definition of human capital, structures it, highlighting the individual human capital, the total human capital of the organization, human capital of the region, human capital of the country. A method is proposed for measuring the productivity of human capital, combining profitable and creative approaches. The calculations of the productivity of human capital operating in the Russian economy are carried out.

abstract
The article identifies six politically characteristic regions for which the predicted dynamics of the total population and the working age population are considered. Post-socialist countries went through the peak of the working-age population in the mid-2000s, and countries in the Asian region - in 2010. In Latin America, the peak of the working-age population, according to the UN average forecast, will fall in 2019 and will also be rapidly declining in the future. The only region characterized by an improvement in the situation associated with the demographic burden is the countries of Africa, where the share of the able-bodied population is currently extremely low due to numerous cohorts younger than working age and will grow in the coming decades.
