ABOUT THE ROLE OF MONOPOLIES, PRICE AND NON-PRICE COMPETITION IN A REASONABLE MARKET

author

A. I. AMOSOV

abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the ambiguity of the role of monopolies, competition and the market in solving the problems of socio-economic development. It shows that price increases in order to obtain monopoly superprofits occur when companies are guided by short-term interests. With overpricing, the volumes of solvent demand are reduced. Therefore, bona fide monopolies are more concerned with matching supply prices with demand prices than small and medium-sized enterprises are capable of doing. In practice, the demonopolization of markets has led to the creation of a huge number of intermediary structures that engage in monopoly speculative overstatement of prices and tariffs. The article proposes to abandon the “fight against monopolies” and create an institutional environment for a reasonable market.
