STRUCTURAL CHANGES IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY

author

E. I. SHUMSKAYA, A. Yu. SAVCHENKO

abstract

This study focuses on three structural changes in the modern economy: technological, demographic and geopolitical. They can lead to an increase in the well-being of society, but at the same time they can increase the growth of unemployment, inequality and the impoverishment of the middle class in developed countries. The low level of adaptation to global changes and the fragmented multilateralism of the economic picture of the world make it difficult to develop collective approaches to solving problems peacefully, despite the clearly growing interdependence between countries. The study is aimed at identifying and substantiating the key issues facing national governments in order to identify “windows” of opportunities for further economic growth and achieving a higher standard of living for society. The research methodology was composed of systemic, historical, comparative and analytical approaches.
