Abstract
The article discusses blockchain technology, which is a decentralized digital transaction register. Its main advantages, including public key infrastructure, proof-of-work mechanism, and smart contracts, are investigated. The prospects of using blockchain in financial and various non-financial sectors for the development of the information society have been studied.
