Abstract
Here are considered the key aspects of a comparatively new di-rection of journalism - video blog. The genre-thematic classification of video blogging is presented. The analysis makes it possible to conclude that this type of activity includes many forms of communication: education, entertainment, politics, business, etc., which defines its specificity as a video content format combining the main functions of TV and Internet space. At the moment, video blog is one of the most popular and effective means of Internet communication. Relevance is determined by the lack of study of video blog as an Internet com-munication. Since video blogging adopts genres not only from TV journalism, but also from other screen arts, the genre classification of video blogging will constantly need to be supplemented.
