Abstract
the common causes of mercenary crime are rooted in the contradictions of social development, in unfavorable trends in the economy and, above all, due to the real crisis phenomena, in the shortcomings of the sociospiritual sphere, in miscalculations in educational work, in a formal bureaucratic attitude towards people. The result of the analysis of the causes of crimes against property should be the adoption of measures to eliminate them or limit their action. Effective criminal law protection of property as the basis of the economic system of society is possible only with the constant improvement of both legislation and law enforcement practice.
