Abstract
Relevance of the study. The article is devoted to the study of the problems, advantages and disadvantages of the
introduction of innovative technology of additive 3D production in modern industrial enterprises in the context of the
transition to Industry 4.0. The course of advanced economic and technological development adopted today in many
countries determines the relevance of a thorough analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of introducing innovative
technology of additive 3D production at each specific industrial enterprise. These issues are poorly reflected in the
statistics of industrial activity, which causes difficulties for specialists involved in the implementation of additive 3D
production.
Objective. The article identifies a range of key problems that are common and, therefore, applicable to almost any
innovative environment where the technology of additive 3D manufacturing is being introduced during the transition to
Industry 4.0. In addition to identifying common problems, the purpose of this article is to clarify the existing advantages
and disadvantages that are characteristic of almost any innovative environment where additive 3D production technologies
are introduced.
Results. The author made an attempt to bring more clarity to the topic of 3D additive manufacturing, which will be
useful for people studying innovative technologies in Industry 4.0, as well as for additive manufacturing practitioners.
