Abstract

The purpose of the work. The article presents an analysis of foreign open materials for the use of supercomputers’ power and high-performance computing for the development and production of innovative military products.
Materials and methods. Some technological initiatives and programs aimed at modernizing supercomputing resources and developing supercomputing technologies used for the needs of the US Army are highlighted, as well as an overview of the activities and examples of innovative developments of military and military scientific institutions and enterprises of the US defense industry.
Results. The importance of directing investments and development of the supercomputer industry to counter modern threats and ensure national security is substantiated.
Conclusion. The analysis carried out in the article allows us to conclude that the role of supercomputer capacities and high-performance computing is rapidly increasing in the creation of innovative military products, ensuring national security, implementing strategic national interests, and countering modern threats.
