Abstract

The presented study is devoted to the genotyping of Holstein cows by LTF gene using the PCR-RFLP method and monitoring the variability of alleles and genotypes of the lactoferrin gene in various populations of Holstein cattle. For the study, 594 cows of the Holstein breed of the SHPK “Lenz Plemzavod named after Lenin” in Atninsky district were genotyped. Testing of DNA from blood samples showed that the LTF gene is polymorphic in the study population. In the course of the work, the following allelic variants and genotypes were identified: A - 0,84 and B - 0,16; AA - 67,5% (401 goals), AB - 32,5% (193 goals), BB - 0,0% (0 goals). Chi-square testing between the observed and expected distribution of genotypes indicates genetic equilibrium in the study population. For all groups of cattle, the predominance of allele A over allele B.
