Abstract

The work is devoted to an urgent topic, since in industrial conditions of milk production a rational way of keeping cows directly affects primarily the reproductive qualities of animals. Studies were conducted in four commodity herds of cattle in the Omsk region. The results show that, with loose housing, first-calf heifers account for 44,4% and 33,1% the proportion of second calving cows, which is 7,5% and 0,3% more than in enterprises with tethered keeping, respectively. Animals formed faster in enterprises with tethered keeping, as 86,1% of heifers inseminate before the age of 18 months. In enterprises with loose technology for keeping animals, repair young animals were reared for the longest period, the average age of the first fruitful insemination is 27,3 months. In enterprises with loose housing, only 9,4% of the cows from the entire breeding stock are fertilized in the optimal period after calving, which leads to an increase in barrenness. A comprehensive assessment of the reproductive qualities of cows and heifers with an analysis of the age composition and structure of the dairy herd allows us to determine a more effective way of keeping, contributing to the implementation of the reproductive activity of animals for specific production conditions.
