Abstract

The breeding value of producer bulls by the productivity of their maternal ancestors and the strength of the influence of the factor “bull country of origin” are determined. The significant influence of the factor “country of origin” on the breeding value of bulls of black-motley breed was revealed according to the maternal ancestors -? 2 = 0,26; MJ? 2 = 0,11; MDB? 2 = 0,10, Ayrshire - on the average? 2 = 0,47, and Kholmogorsky and Yaroslavl - the effect is not significant. Superiority was established for the milking maternal ancestors of producers from Canada (15 kg of milk). The results will allow the use of the best breeding material to improve breed populations.
