Abstract

The article highlights the new domestic drug “Melavit” based on plant-derived melanins for the pharmacocorrection of urolithiasis in dogs and cats. The effectiveness of its use for the dissolution of struvite and urate type uroliths in animals received at one of the Moscow veterinary clinics - "Artemis" has been experimentally proved. In addition to the generally accepted treatment protocol, animals were injected with “Melavit” into the oral cavity or through the urethral catheter. As a result of the use of the Melavit preparation, surgical intervention was avoided for all animals received at the reception. During the research, not a single negative reaction of the organism of the experimental animals was revealed.
