The authors present the history of the emergence of animal cell culture, the method of obtaining the primary cell culture, classification, advantages over other living systems. The features of the life cycle of cell culture, the possibility of its long-term maintenance, use in laboratory and industrial conditions, and the use of antiviral vaccines and components of diagnostic kits for production are shown.
