Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify and describe neoplasms of different animal organs of the Yaroslavl Zoo. Statistics on the incidence of pathologies for 5 years of the study are considered. Clinical cases with a description of the diagnosis and surgical treatment of animals with neoplasms are presented. On average, the death rate of animals of the zoo due to cancer amounted to 5,05%. In 81,25% of cases, cancer caused the death of animals. Neoplasms of different localization were found in 16 animals differing in sex: 75% malignant neoplasms, the rest are benign. The study found that the most common lymphomas, adenocarcinomas and osteosarcomas. Most often, digestive organs were observed; immune organs, reproductive organs, musculoskeletal system, skin and integument epithelium, neoplasms with an unexplained primary focus were identified in isolated cases.
