Abstract

The possibility of prevention and therapy of digestive disorders in calves in the early postnatal period with the use of the vitamin-amino acid preparation Vitam, as well as its combination with the drinking of the Startin-Fito complex in this article is being considered. A clear preventive effect of the drug Vitam was established in the form of the absence of clinical signs of indigestion in calves against the background of the absence of preventive treatment and morbidity in the control group at 4–6 days of age – 26,7% and 22–23 days of age – 46,7% calves. The therapeutic effect is observed when using the vitamin and amino acid preparation Vitam in the presence of clinical signs of indigestion. In the group where Vitam was used, no deviations in the hematological profile were observed on days 2–3 from the start of therapy, in contrast to the control group. There was a normalization of the clinical manifestations of indigestion after a single use of the drug Vitam, against the background of the presence of clinical signs in the control group for 5–6 days.
