Abstract
Sepsis is an actual and not fully studied problem of modern veterinary medicine, which is characterized
by the difficulty of diagnosis and treatment. Sepsis remains one of the key clinical problems
of modernity, due to its worldwide and high mortality. To date, one of the key issues remains
the establishment of methodologies to improve the accuracy, reproducibility and/or clinical value of
the diagnosis of sepsis.
An attempt to combine the pathogenicity factors of an infectious agent and the failure of the protective
mechanisms of the macroorganism is reflected in the PIRO concept, which suggests XNUMX links
in the etiopathogenesis of sepsis.
Thus, systemic studies will make it possible to come close to the development of pathogenetically
substantiated methods for prognosis and optimizing the treatment of animals with such a diagnosis.
